July 6 - 30, 2010
for children 3-5 and 6-8
Our fourth Summer Day Camp offers a creative, nurturing and relaxed experience for children ages three through eight.
Campers learn from caring and supportive early childhood educators who possess strong backgrounds in the arts.
At the Summer Arts and Science in French, children are encouraged to speak French through captivating workshops designed to both educate and entertain.
Our integrated approach specifically engages the child in lively and creative activities to enhance developmentally appropriate skills in a foreign language.
We encourage children to explore their environment and express themselves through all modes of expression including words, movement, drawing, building, sculpture, shadow play, collage, dramatic play, and music.
The projects are designed to involve hands-on investigation, finding the answers to questions, reading about a topic, and visually representing their learning through a variety of mediums.
The daily schedule includes a balance of stimulating and relaxing developmentally appropriate activities. The children discover that learning a second language is truly "Fun"damental!
Outdoor activities will take place in the neighborhood parks and playgrounds.
Snack is provided. It includes water, organic fruits and vegetables, hummus, and crackers.

THEATER CAMP IN FRENCH FOR CHILDREN AGES 6-12:
If your child likes theater, wants to perform and act, and speaks French (fluency not required) then give your child the opportunity to practice French in an original and fun setting that will provide him/her with a forum for creative and emotional expression. The Summer Theater Workshop at the Language and Laughter Studio will offer your child the chance to develop concentration, discipline, focus, public speaking ability and self-esteem while immersing him or her in the French language. This class is designed to maintain and strengthen children’s identity and heritage by developing confidence through excellent oral language skills.
We have the honor of hosting Stéphanie Fribourg, a professional Theater instructor who has run her own theater company, L'Oiseau bleu in NY and in Europe for the last decade. With Stéphnaie’s talent and guidance, your children will be exposed to improvisation, sketch writing, relaxation techniques, the sharing of collective ideas and opposing points of view, and theatrical interpretation of contemporary plays and scenarios in French. This course emphasizes the individual voice, and lets children use their creative and intuitive thinking to open themselves to their personal channels, and dreams.
This program is designed for a small group, so space is limited. Please let us know if you are interested in having your child be part of this amazing journey!
